A Virginia Beach-based team of Navy SEALS is credited with finally bringing down Osama bin Laden, the man the United States (and, well, the world) has been trying to capture for years.
“Team Six” – a moniker given to the Naval Special Warfare Development Group (or DevGru, for short) – had been undergoing extensive training to ensure that their raids would unfold flawlessly, even practicing their skills in a replicated one-acre compound built on Camp Alpha. DevGru belongs to the Joint Special Operations Command and reports to the President, their missions and training always highly classified. You could set your watch for the various climaxes, hooks or “reality moments” that occur in the series: Every 5 minutes there is a fist fight, every 4 minutes Amy is yelling at the boys for being too reckless and every 3 minutes there is the obligatory in-studio aside in which one of the stars explains or clarifies something that does not even need to be said.

Paula Abdul made a frantic and tearful 911 call during a Valentine’s Day drive with a boyfriend.
The call was made while Abdul was traveling as a passenger in a car on the 101 freeway near Santa Barbara, California. At one point Abdul tells the operator responding to the call, I want out of this car and he won’t let me.
According to TMZ, authorities contacted Abdul by phone an hour later and visited her home at night, but Abdul declined to file a police report. A rep for Abdul tells the website, Arguments with loved ones are often times heated.

River who stood 6 foot 8 and weighed about 575 pounds, gained a measure of fame in the past year as spokesman for the Heart Attack Grill, a west Chandler restaurant that specializes in thick hamburgers and fries. He died on Tuesday.
The 6-foot-8 River was a state heavyweight wrestling champion in 1999 at Payson High School and went on to play football at Mesa Community College.
Basso said River was a creative genius who had been planning to take part in the shooting of a promotional spot called, Heart Attack Grill: The Musical.
The restaurant has received notoriety for its promotion offering free food to customers weighing more than 350 pounds.

Scientific investigations have revealed that human DNA may be present in fragments of material that could provide crucial information about the fate of Amelia Earhart, the legendary pilot who disappeared 74 years ago while flying over the Pacific Ocean in a record attempt to circle the world at the equator. Scientists at the University of Oklahoma attempted to detect human DNA from three bone fragments recovered last year by a group of aviation enthusiasts on an expedition to Nikumaroro Island, 2,900km south of Hawaii.A doctor in Fiji determined the bones were of a human male, but the remains disappeared.
“There is simply no way that the Earhart aircraft could be anywhere near Papua New Guinea,” he said.
Mr Gillespie says radio transmissions and other evidence indicate Earhart landed on an atoll in the central Pacific and perished from a lack of food and water.

The parents of a California 13-year-old are under investigation after the girl told police she was being forced to go to Pakistan for an arranged marriage.
Jessie Bender, 13, from Hesperia, Calif., was last seen by her mother on Tuesday, February 22.
Melissa Bender, Jessie’s mother told KTLA that Jessie had been chatting with a man she met on Facebook, on the night she went missing.
“He was the last person she spoke to at 1:47 in the morning,” said Melissa.
Jessie Bender’s folks told authorities last month their daughter ran off because she didn’t want to go on a two-month family trip to her step-father’s native country. They then falsely claimed she was abducted by someone she met on Facebook, officials said.
However, after weeks of investigating leads that wrangled the FBI, the U.S. Marshals Office and police departments nationwide, authorities say it was all a lie.
“Bender family members misled detectives and withheld critical information,” San Bernardino County Sheriff’s Department spokeswoman Roxanne Walker said in a news release.
