Blog host WordPress.com was the target of a distributed denial-of-service (DDoS) attack earlier today described by the company as the largest in its history.

Steve Jobs returned to work from medical leave to launch a new version of its iPad touch screen computer.
Jobs, who is fighting pancreatic cancer, joked to an audience in San Francisco: I just didn’t want to miss today.

ipad 2 specs sale price $499 . The iPad 2 comes with a front facing camera as well as a rear camera. The iPad 2 is also 33% thinner as compared to the original iPad. iPad 2 runs on the recently announced iOS 4.3 and comes with the same 9.7 inch display and 10 hours of battery life.

The iPad 2 will be available in the US from March 11th on the airwaves of AT&T and Verizon. Customers in Australia, Canada, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, A “smart cover” case that magnetically graps the iPad to protect the screen–and wakes the iPad when you open it, then folds up to prop up the device. It comes in a choice of colors and with either a polyurethane (Jobs notes that they make spacesuits out of polyurethane) or leather exterior, with a microfiber lining on the inside the clean the screen. There are lots of screenshots and videos on Mac OS X Lion round the web ever since the preview version was released by Apple. Yesterday Nilay Patel of Engadget posted the best quick overview I’ve seen so far.

He covers a lot of the new iOS-style features, as well as many other notable new features. One odd change, that Patel is not overly fond of (and I definitely agree) is that by default Dashboard no longer appears over the top of your current screen, but is in a space of its own. Read more…
