The 6-foot-8 River was a state heavyweight wrestling champion in 1999 at Payson High School and went on to play football at Mesa Community College.
Basso said River was a creative genius who had been planning to take part in the shooting of a promotional spot called, Heart Attack Grill: The Musical.
The restaurant has received notoriety for its promotion offering free food to customers weighing more than 350 pounds.

The Radio 1 disc-spinner spent a week in the Kibera slum in Kenya as part of a charity fundraiser for Comic Relief, but forgot about the hardship he was set to face in his time there and spent his money on watching a Manchester United game.
He added to the Daily Star newspaper: “I knew living in the slums would be hard but I never knew people did things like this to survive.
“I don’t think it gets much worse than literally shovelling sh*t to make money so your kids can go to school. I thought I knew what poverty was until I came out to Kenya.”

A star Brigham Young University basketball player has been suspended for the rest of the season for having premarital sex.

After BYU’s stunning 82-64 loss to New Mexico on Wednesday night, Cougars coach Dave Rose addressed Davies’ dismissal for the first time, saying, “I think it was a surprise to everyone.
Though coach David Rose said he was surprised and he believes the suspension that will stop Davies from participating in any more games this season will be lifted, he does stand behind the decision.

Manchester City defender Kolo Toure has been suspended from playing after testing positive for “a specified substance”.
The club confirmed in a short statement on their website that Toure had been informed by the Football Association that an A-sample provided by him returned positive.“He has been suspended from participating in all first team and non-first team matches pending the outcome of the legal process,” the City statement read.
The Arsenal manager Arsène Wenger had signed him from the Ivorian side Mimosas and he went on to captain the club on a number of occasions before heading to Eastlands, where he served as club captain under Mark Hughes until he was succeeded by Carlos Tevez for this season.
