“Modern Family” beat out Fox’s “Glee” to win the Emmy for best comedy series. The two much-lauded freshmen series went head to head in a number of categories and inspired skits featured in NBC’s three-hour-long Emmy telecast.

Modern Family triumphed with trophies for best comedy, best supporting actor and writing, while Mad Men won its third consecutive Emmy for best drama at the 62nd Primetime Emmys, held Sunday in Los Angeles and broadcast on NBC.

Wins for ABC’s freshman comedy began early with trophies for creators Steven Levitan and Christopher Lloyd for writing, and co-star Eric Stonestreet (Cameron Tucker), who accepted the prize for supporting actor by saying “all I wanted to be was a clown in the circus when I was a kid growing up.” When accepting the Emmy for best comedy, Levitan gave a shout-out to all the show’s fans, big and small. “We are so thrilled that families are sitting down together to watch a television show, and we just wanted to say we are so happy that you have let us into your families,” he said on stage, with the full cast behind him. For ‘Temple Grandin,’ a night to shine

HBO’s critically acclaimed “Temple Grandin” told the remarkable real-life story of the bestselling author and groundbreaking agricultural scientist who struggled early in life to learn to cope with autism before the disease was widely known.

On Sunday, the biopic, which had to overcome what was widely perceived in the industry as challenging subject matter to make its way to the screen, claimed five Emmy prizes, including outstanding made for TV movie.

Attired in red and black rodeo gear, Grandin herself became a palpable presence at the ceremony, at one point, rising and excitedly swinging her hand lasso style from the audience. And while standing on stage after the movie had won its top award, she warmly embraced a sobbing executive producer Emily Gerson Saines, who said she found inspiration in Grandin’s life story as her own child had been diagnosed with autism. paul jr designs

I am a big fan of the TV show American Choppers® and have followed Paul Teutul Jr since the break up with his dad’s company and the launching of his new company Paul Jr. Designs. I covered his new company / website launch back in October 2009.

AT that time, the site focused on selling Hats and T-Shirts displaying the new Paul Jr Designs logo and some of Mikey Teutul’s artwork. It also featured some of Paul’s work that he did for The Coleman Company. The site had some video of what Pauly and Mikey were up to on a reality TV level. Then, the site pretty much went idle. The site then went to a Coming Soon design with Paul Jr standing in front of a business garage door opening up with sparks flying out.

This gave many fans of Pauly a hint that he may be opening a fabrication shop, which likely would roll out custom choppers!

Then The Learning Channel started running promo ads for American Chopper again although it was stated last year in the season ending show that the show was done… The new promo’s state the show was coming back and still uses the American Chopper moniker but now includes Senior Vs Junior! (more…)

jeff lewis

LOS ANGELES – Jeff Lewis isn’t quite like his reality TV peers.

The obsessive-compulsive star of ‘Flipping Out‘ is something of a black sheep among the Bravolebrities. He’s not as fabulous as ‘The Real Housewives‘ nor as chic as the fashionistas of ‘The Rachel Zoe Project,’ and his palate is less refined than any ‘Top Chef.’ (He feasts on McNuggets in Tuesday’s fourth season premiere.)

While most cogs in Bravo’s reality TV drama factory uniformly pop up on gossip blogs and in the pages of tabloid magazines between dispatches about Jennifer Aniston and the Kardashians, the sharp-tongued real estate investor and designer has rarely received such attention since adding reality star to his resume four years ago.
