Mel Gibson’s romance with Russian singer Oksana Grigorieva has ended in a messy legal spat over allegations the movie star was violent towards her.
Gibson split from Grigorieva, the mother of his seven-month-old daughter, earlier this year – and now the former couple is embroiled in a battle over visitation.
The singer reportedly won a restraining order in Los Angeles against Gibson at the beginning of the week, prompting the movie star/director’s legal team to call for a modification so their client could spend time with his daughter.

In response to his former lover’s filing, Gibson’s order only prohibits Grigorieva from releasing certain pieces of information. Those tidbits appear related to confronations that began in January.
A source close to the actor acknowledges some sort of fight took place, but says the pair traveled together happily soon afterwards. This insider added:
“In these cases, when somebody cries wolf, the judge is mandated to assume there’s a wolf, until a full hearing can be held.”
Meanwhile, a Grigorieva source also alluded to events in early 2010 and argued his acquaintance’s side: “There were other acts after January that were not physical but still constituted domestic violence.”
Gibson also got his own restraining order against Oksana, but reportedly only to prohibit her from releasing certain information.
Oksana says the alleged violent incidents occurred in January, but added, “There were other acts after January that were not physical but still constituted domestic violence.”

Gibson is currently living in Malibu, while Grigorieva is living in a Sherman Oaks home in California owned by Gibson. He recently completed filming a new movie, “How I Spent My Summer Vacation.”
